Disabling unneeded services can save around 10mb of RAM but that depends on what you use your computer for. I've found that there is quite a few that can be disabled and others that can be set on manual (use a guide still of course). But again there is just a lot of things that don't apply to me in my current situation and needs so I shut 'em off many months ago and I have zero problems because of it. I had 512mb ram then but with 1GB now it's a very tiny percentage I just felt they didn't need to be on if I had a zero chance of requiring the service.

If you mean putting the 128 stick back in, then why not? More RAM = better.

Well if you are running on low ram then you tweak as much as you can.
I dont know if it has been said but disable the shadows under menus crap. I am not sure how much performance you get out of that which it probably isnt much but you need all you can get.

display properties > appearance > effects > uncheck it

Probably wont notice any difference but hey i like to help even if it is marginal
