XP Pro.Corp. not recognizing scsi harddrive

I am attempting to install a SCSI (IBM Ultrastar3) hardrive. The host adapter is installed and the connection is terminated. The post shows the hardrive but it will not show in device manager or in my computer after boot. I am out of ideas. I have uninstalled several times and reinstalled. No changes to be made on host controller. I tried reinstalling XP Pro. Corp. OS and selected F6 at prompt to set up for SCSI devices but when it goes to next screen it says to insert disk from manufacture and IBM says they do not make a disk for ultra3. Please help!:disgust:

Actually the disk from manufacturer when pressing F6 is refering to the disk for the scsi adapter, not the hard drives, this is probably your problem. Also have you verfied the media through your scsi adapter to make sure the drive has good media? What adapter are you using? How long is your scsi cable, what type is it, is the drive set to auto-terminate, is the adapter set to auto-terminate, are you using any pin converters between your cable and the adapter and/or hard drive? scsi can be confusing to newbies, you need to know all these things to properly set up your scsi interfaces.
