I am having a problem with a HDD. System tells me to boot from CD, and type "R" to repair. When in repair C:\windows it asks for "Which installation would I Like to logon to".

What is my answer. I tried C and I also tried 1. None worked is there a correct answer. My system AMD 3200 with720 mem on a asus a7n8x deluxe.

Thank you

What is the problem you're having with your HDD?

Once you've logged in successfully to recovery console (hitting 1 at the top of your keyboard will then prompt you for your administrator password; key that in and you'll go to the commandline), try doing a chkdsk /p and let us know the results. Run it again and again until no more errors are found.
