XP Pro and system restore

I was just wondering if there's any way to save a specific restore point to cdr. I noticed that all the restore points were taking up alot of space on my drive and I'd rather disable it but it's saved me troubles a few times. So is there any way to do this or am I better just going with norton ghost or something like that?
