XP Pro and Partition Magic??

I've got my system configured as follows.

IDE#3- 60gb hdd w/ XP Pro
IDE#4- 20GB hdd w/ 98

I boot from XP and I'm just keeping the other hdd as is for now, till I can navigate XP a little better (I just installed XP last week).

I was wondering if I could use Partition Magic on the hdd w/ 98 OS to create another partition and back up my 60gb XP OS from the other hdd?? Would I need to boot from the 98 hdd to do this or could I do it from hdd w/XP OS?? I like XP so far- easy networking and security features.

when installing Partition magic, there is usually an option to make a DOS disc, so you can do the nitty gritty in DOS- no need to boot to an operating system.
