XP partition size

Heya folks, building a new comp and like to have windows on it's own partition.
I used to go with ~ 10gb for that but it's been a while and I'm wondering what people recommend/run.

I would make a bigger partition and put all my apps/games on it as well. If you nuke the windows partition you'll have to reinstall the apps anyway.
 
I have my Windows installation and applications on a 36GB Raptor; if it were a partition on a larger drive, I would want at least 30GB for OS and apps, though I don't have any games, so factor in more space for those if you need to. Putting OS and apps on separate partitions is pointless, as Sureshot points out above.

Not everyone has more than one hard drive, performs regular backups, or makes a drive image. Having 2 partitions on a single drive comes in handy if you nuke c: and store everything else on d: 🙂
 
I used to go with 10GB ...until multiple downloads of movies and stuff would easily exceed what free space was available. My next re-install will be twenty GB.

Absolutely. It just makes more sense to have apps and OS on one partition, data on another, instead of OS on one partition, and apps + data on the other.
