I just upgraded my detonator drivers in XP to 23.11 and the computer kept crashing with BSOD. I ended up booting into safe mode and reinstalled the 21.83 driver I was using before. My problem is now everytime I reboot the computer it tells me my computer has recovered from a serious error and asks me if I want to send a report or not. How do I get it to stop showing this? I know I have seen this posted before but cant remember what the fix was. Also, does anyone know if there is a problem with 23.11?

right click my computer->advanced->error reporting->disable error reporting, but notify me when critical errors occur.

Does this mean my computer has constant errors taking place or is this a bug in the error reporting? Did my reinstalling the older 21.83 drivers not work correctly while in safe mode?

I just went in and disabled error reporting like you said and rebooted. Guess what happened upon rebooting. "The system has recovered from a serious error" Only now it doesnt give me the option to send a report to MS. Something is screwed up. I know someone asked this before but cant remember what the fix was.

Anyone?

I was getting the same error and I finally ended up reinstalling Windows XP and the error went away. Microsoft had better get on the ball here. This OS is full of bugs!

I dont want to hear that answer. I cant tell you how many times I have already reinstalled this OS due to different problems that popped up after installing drivers and different programs. By the way what version of detonator drivers are you using if at all?

Is it possible some stuff from the 23.11 drivers was left over after reverting back to 21.83? Is there anyway to check the registry and get rid of them? I really dont feel like reinstalling.

Is there an error being generated everytime I start my computer or is there just a bug with XPs error reporting and its just telling me about a single error over and over. Meaning is my computer unstable as it sits from buggy leftover drivers floating around my system or am I simply getting upset about a silly warning popping up when I enter the OS for the first time?

Thanks

i would try things in this order to save you the trouble of reformatting.

1. go to device manager, remove the display adapter that shows up (hopefully nvidia)

2. on reboot, don't try to find drivers or let windows do it automatically

3. run Regcleaner and EasyCleaner to hopefully remove any dead registry entries that could be causing conflicts with your video drivers

4. double-click the nvidia driver .exe of choice

5. reboot, and ill try to think of more ideas

Well I think the problem has been solved. Crossing my fingers.

I unistalled the nvidia drivers, rebooted and reinstalled the 21.83 drivers.

That didnt do it so then I ran Regcleaner and that seemed to do it. Rebooted and no error message:D

You might want to check in the system event log and make sure there still are not errors occuring.

This is pretty crazy. The errors are back but I think it is from The Sims game. I installed the game for my wife earlier this week and the game crashes with the BSOD. So, I upgraded the video drivers thinking that would help and then the computer became unstable all the time and crashed all over the place. I unistalled the game and was still getting errors. I really thought all of my problems were from the drivers. Well I finally got rid of the errors as I stated earlier by unistalling the drivers and reinstalling them and doing Regcleaner.

Last night after everything was working good again I reinstalled The Sims. The game crashed again when you try and play the game. Now everytime I reboot the computer I get those damn error messages again at startup. I think The Sims is causing them. Has anyone had any luck on playing this game on XP. Their tech support is of no help. They dont support XP. Well I am going to try and unistall the game and do regcleaner again and see if that cures my problems for now. My wifes just not going to be happy not being able to play her new game.

Thats right but you have to disable critical errors as well or it will tell you everytime on bootup,I` don`t have " The Simms" game but you tried running that in Win98 compatiability mode see if that helps?

I just uninstalled The Sims, rebooted, and the errors were still there. So, I ran regcleaner, rebooted, and that cured the errors problem again.

I dont want to disable error reporting, because I want to know when errors are occuring and most of all I wanted to cure these errors I was having and not simply let them continue.

Regcleaner seems to be a hell of a program. Now if only I could get The Sims to work. I bought it for my wife for Christmas and threw away the reciept after she opened it and liked it. Now I cant take it back and Electronic Arts wont do anything without a reciept either. I have tried everything imaginable to run this game. And yeah the compatibility mode didnt help. It always crashes at the blue screen when you start the game. You can tell its loading stuff for the game and then BSOD. Its the infinite loop, Nvidia thing.
