I had PerfectDisk v7 defragmenting my c: drive, and when it was about half done, xp started to behave strangely. First it froze for a couple of seconds, but returned to normal shortly. Then again, for a longer period of time, and last i got a bsod saying MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION.

When i tried to reboot, i got "\system32\drivers\pci.sys corrupt or missing" error.
So, i fired up the recovery console and expanded teh file there. Reboot.... same error..

Again, i used the console, to run chkdsk.. It said sumthing like "u got at least one major error on your c: drive". Now i know whats the matter.. but how to solve it?

I got a raid0 array of 2 160gb sata maxtor drives NTFS.

Help appreciated
thanks to anyone who bothers
cheers

Just reporting progress :p
When I tried to repair my XP install, the setup told me that i had 8MB of unpartitioned space on my disk. (not seen that before) And no repair install available.
Pretty nasty huh?

Help? (hoping format is not the only key)
