XP-M2500-ok??

I know this question probably had been asked thousands times here but i just wanna make sure:
I want a mobile athlon and i wanna oc it to around 2500-2600Mhz. I decided to go with XP-M 2500 instead of Xp-M2600 because overall they overclock better. am i right or should i change my decision

Like the last guy said though, the stepping is the most important aspect. One of the steppings is good for air ocing (low volts), the other eats up volts and oc's extremely well with water/phase/extreme cooling IIRC.

really? I was under the impression that the "I" steppings just plain OCed well and the "A"s didn't. You say the "A"s OC better than "I's with more voltage and cooling?

I think you shoulda gone with the 2400 M its 13 bucks cheaper on newegg than the 2500 M and I believe all stepping pretty much perform the same. I got mine to run from 1.8 to 2.4 without a new bios revision which I think would help me reach 2.5 or 2.6. Its using stock air cooling. The chip is labeled AXMH2400FQQ4C AQYHA. Although in general your stepping will help you get an idea of how far you can push your proc, I don't know if there are many mobiles the can't overclock like crazy.

Edit: The main problem is motherboard limitations and finding the right mixture of timings, multiplier, fsb and other details like I posted in my other thread.

Ok,let's say I'm getting my cpu from newegg. On the web site there they clearly say that they sell XP-M2500 with this stepping AXMH2500FQQ4C( is it good or bad for oc?) but they don't mention anything about the steppings of XP-M2600 or XP-M2400. So shoud I go with the XP-M2500 knowing the stepping ( unless this stepping really sux) or shoul I count on my lucky draw and go with XP-M2600??
