XP License?

Some resellers are selling XP licenses with no media. Example. Is this kosher? As long as I have one valid OEM disk, would I just be able to buy additional licenses and do new installs?

Edit:

This link gives a better example... Seems like one can buy XP Pro OEM licenses without media and install off a single OEM cd, or from copies of the OEM cd... Makes the whole thing a little more economically feasible.

Sure, licenses aren't tied to any CDs or anything. They're just records that say you're allowed to install 1 copy of Windows, when you buy 5 licenses from MS you just a piece of paper that says "congratulations, you can install 5 more copies of XX on something".

As for your OEM disk I'm not sure, usually OEM disks are tied to a piece of hardware and generally come with more restrictions about what can be done with them. But as long as it's a full XP install it will technically work, but legally you probably can't use it (or atleast the license that it came with) on anything other than the piece of hardware it came with.

Isn't licensing fun?

Just wondering how an XP license can be a 'system pull' vs. Brand new for $5 more. Smells like crap to me.

Yea that $5 is BS, a license is a license is a license, unless it's an invalid license.
