XP is jumpy.

I installed XP on my 30gig Dimondplus 60 hard drive yesterday. Well it's jumpy. Lets say I click Favorites in IE, it takes a while to load, and the mouse is jumpy. Same goes with a few other things.

Anyone know why?


System specs.
AMD Duron 600 (not overclocked)
256 MB of Mosel Vitelic Rev2 PC133
Asus v6600 (geforce 256)
Abit KT7
SB Live
30gig Maxtor
20gig Quantum
52x Delta cd-rom
Intel Pro 100+ nic
Fasttrak 66 raid controller (got my 30gig and 20gig hooked up to it, not in any kind of raid configuration though).
No floppy.
Antec sx830 (300watt PS).

Try turning all of the eye candy in the OS off. Go to system properties/Advanced/Performance then set it for performance.

do you have any anti-virus problem running? i have this problem when mcafee trying to scan everything in background.
