XP Installation Freeze

I'm installing XP with SP1 on Sata 160gig Maxtor on a brand new computer that I just put together... It says that setup has 34 minutes before completion and that it's installing devices BUT it hasn't progressed in the last hour. The screen that tells you many exciting facts about XP keeps changing, along with the scrolling squares at the bottom right. So it's not frozen, BUT what should I do?

What do I need to do? Do I need to reformat now and try again? Or just restart and install?

same thing happened to me but at a later stage(the part when XP is saving setting with 5 minutes left). I will try to reformat and reinstall and see how it goes.
