XP Install Problem

Hi, I recently purchased a system and all was going well until now.
I had winxp home installed, and now the activation time is up, so I bought a copy of xp pro.
I booted to the xp pro cd and hit f6 at the prompt in setup.

I used the same disk I had used for the home installation and I recieved this error "File \WinXP\UlSata.sys caused an unexpected error (4099) at line 2113 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\oemdisk".

I tried again but it didnt work at all (it just asked for the disk again), so I downloaded newer drivers off the asus website and tried again to no avail.
I tried the older drivers again but still no response.

Is there something I am missing? 😕

My system is: AMD 64 3500+, ASUS A8V, Corsair twinx1024-3200, Seagate 120gb sata hdd, Antec TruePower 430w, Gainward 6800gt

Thanks for your time 🙂

Did you try it with no disc ( IE Dont press f6 )? I have a different board, but when I installed my XP PRO SP2 on SATA it never needed it.

I tried loading XP Pro on a hard drive that had an OS on it and it would not load. I had to do an FDISK /MBR (Master Boot Record) to clear the Master Boot Record, before XP Pro would Load. I used a Windows 98 CD to use the FDISK program. Hope this helps.
