xp ie6 help.....

a few days ago i turned off that annoying image taskbar on ie6 and now when i try to save a pic it will automaticly list it as untitled and wants to save everything as bitmap....no other choices in the drop down menu....you can still save in jpeg if you type in .jpeg after you name it but that gets annoying too...turned the image taskbar back on but to no avail still bitmaps....ugghhh...i do alot of graphic design and i am always dealing with pics...so if anybody can please tell me how to get this back to the way it was that would be great...

p.s. restore deafaults didnt work either....
