I have WinXP Pro installed on my system and have always had numerous problems with it. It does not open instantaneously, it takes anywhere from 15 seconds to a minute or so to open, then initially is non-functional, sometimes becomes functional then goes disfunctional when attempting to do anything in it, sometimes locks up the control panel app, and is just miserable to use. Sometimes you can get it to identify and test your controller, but even when doing this, it stops for many seconds, starts to work again, then might lock temporarily, and sometimes locks up hard. I really don't understand it. My son has an Intel system with XP Pro and his seems to run the app fine. My system is: MSI KT266A Via chipset motherboard, 512 DDR Memory, ATI Radeon 8500, SB Audigy, Promise IDE RAID controller, 3COM NIC, 2 Seagate HDDs, Zip 250 IDE, Teac CDRW, Pioneer DVD drive, and Supra Modem. The app acts like this whether there are any controllers plugged in or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Other than this quirk, the system seems to run great.
