XP file system question

If you choose to load XP on a FAT32 partition, can you later convert it to XPFS or NTFS whatever it's called? Or must you make that decision when you load RC2?

Sure wish MSFT would have sent me my download info on Friday. What a boring weekend, I was hoping I'd be playing with XP tonite but I'm not.

if it's anything like winnt and win2k there should be an option to convert your drive to ntfs after you install... i'm pretty sure it should be there since xp is basically win2k upgraded anyway.

keep in mind the home edition only supports FAT32 (at least as far as I can tell... if anyone has figured out a way to get home edition to support NTFS let me know)

You can convert FAT partitions to NTFS partitions with the convert.exe command.

This is one-way, tho: you can't go back to FAT without backup and restore.

Home Edition will only install to an NTFS partition, but it can read FAT32 partitions. Pro gives you the option to install to either.
