i looked on the windows site a bit for this but i'm not even sure where i should start.
i was just surfing the web and got an error message "the computer has shut down to prevent damage" etc.... the only other time i saw this screen was OC'ing a vid card too high and of course it pointed to the nvid driver or whatnot.
anyway, error message reads
stop:0x000008e (0xc000001d, 0xBF8053ef, 0xF1A252FC, 0x0000000)
win 32k.sys
address BF8053EF
Base at BF8000000
does the win32k.sys indicate its a software issue only? i do OC the cpu some but i've never had any problems, its a p4 and can run prime for hours on end.
any help?
looks like they have all kinds of other stop 0x0000 messages but not ending 8e (according to help and support)
so it looks like its some sort of ntfs based error according to what the others are pointing to?
