XP drivers for a Discontinued Microtek

I have a Microtek V310 Scanner which had worked great on my Windows 98 SE but now I have gone to XP and it did not find this device. I went to the Microtek site and this is a discontinued model but I thought somebody here might know where to get some XP drivers for it so I would not have to chunk it out. Good scanner and would love to get some drivers for it to run with XP. Thanks to anyone that could help.......

Here is my 2 cents...I have an Astra 600s from Umax..WinXP recognized it and it work with the WinXP drivers..not well..looked around there were of course no XP drivers on the Umax site..supposedly the Umax drivers would not work...well after a thought I went ahead and installed the Vista 3.1 drivers for WinNT ..knowing the scanner software that is installed may crash..it loaded the twain drivers I needed and seems to run fine..so my suggestion is try to load or install WinNT or preferably a win 2000 based software and see what happens...

Please note this could crash winXP or even require a reinstall if ti goes real bad..so try at your own risk

I had the same problem. I kept scanning the microteck site however, and finally you can find a statement from them about xp. Basically they say they tested all scanners and they will work under xp. You are just supposed to ignore the warnings xp throws at you about non logo approved etc. Just click continue anyway and it will be fine. I have been scanning thru acdsee and all is fine.

Thanks for the reply Trammer but when I tried to install the drivers that came with this scanner, XP doesn't recognize them.That is why I needed a driver that will be recognized.

Thanks Trammer and I will try this. When I was at the site before I found that the V310 was discontinued and not much elso. They had info for the other models. I do appreciate your assistance and hope this works. I will try and do this tomorrow and see what happens. I needed the scanner last night for a university research paper I was doing. Again I appreciate the assistance.
