XP Desktop Icons

Can you get the XP desktop icons gone, so that it is essentially list mode, where it is a very tiny icon left of the name?

I have tried playing around with the appearance settings in display properties but if I make the icon smaller, it also cuts off the name of the file. I want to see most of the file names, and could careless about the actual icon.

Possible, or if not, any third party software capable of doing it?

1. There is third party software to do that.

or

2. Make the icons as small as you want, but set the "icon spacing" and icon text size big enough that the file names are still visible.

1. Have a piece of software name?

2. I tried to do the icon spacing larger while the icon smaller and it still significantly cuts off the text name of the shortcut/file.

Marvelous, but anything that will retain the icon positions? I see that this you have to run every time windows boots and I believe it sets everything to alphabet order.
