XP DATA ERROR...Cyclic Redundancy Check!!!!!!?????

Now for the latest chapter of what problem can I make arise...

When moving my Mp3's over from Cd to my Slave Drive... up comes this fun error.

Keep in mind, I had all these mp3's already on my other XP system and used the native burning app in XP to burn them, yet... I still get this error. I tried not moving as many at once, and it worked for one cd, and then the next one, it wont help at all how few I pick to move.

Anyone at all have ANY idea as to what I can do to resolve this??

I had the same problem and it turned out my drive was bad. One of the fabled IBM GXP drives known for their stability. On it's way to RMA right now. I am not saying that this is your problem but it sounds very likely either that or you had some bad media or prolems with burning?
What burner did you use?

i only got this problem when i used cheap cd-rs like office depot brand or hypermedias. once i went to using TDK (ritek and TY manufactured), i never had this prob again.

I am using a WD 40 gig HD, and I Seriousssslllllllyy doubt it's the drive. Why you may ask? B/C Like I mentioned in a previous thread, I went through this problem on my other PC as well. I am sure both drives are not bad.

I have an HP 9710 16X burner in here at the moment. I am awaiting my 24X which is en route.

There was no problems while burning, and I used Memorex CDR's and 3 CompUSA < yea those ones are not so hot, but I ran out. 🙂 ( I have 22 CDR's of music)

Ok a lil update: It seems... my DVD ROM drives, of which both are same brand in both PC's are the ones having more troubles with it than the Burners..

So I am loading them from my burner instead... It's a lot slower, but at least it's working. (For Now)

It thinks it's the cd-r's in combination with the drives. Memorex cd's are pretty low quality...
