Hey guys my cousin has a computer from internetishop.com that's been having problems

Its an Athlon 1800+ PC w/ 512 MB RAM, 64MB Nvidia Geforce 2 MX200

Its been crashing about 2-3 times a day giving this error (not exact):

A file has corrupted the system and the system has been shut down to prevent any damage to your computer. The file name was "nv4".

It gives a huge list of numbers at the end, which I can provide if needed.

Computer has to be rebooted every time. Any ideas, boys? He has Norton Antivirus 2002 but isn't sure if it is a virus or not. I don't believe his subscription is up to date and he is a novice computer user. However, it doesn't seem like a virus, more like a faulty device. Also, he claims it happens more frequently on his brother's account than on his. Whether or not its a difference in the programs they run, I do not know. I know they're favorite applications are NERO burn, AIM 5.0, and Kazaa Lite 2.0.2.

Thanks guys,
Dave

I searched system, it says that file is an nVidia driver file. Should I try updating his video drivers? As I said before, I doubt he has updated them because of his computer skill. This is his first computer.

i think you should uninstall NVIDIA driver first. then install the graphic card using VGA driver, and finally update to the lastest Nvidia driver.
