XP boot problem

After a recent failed attempt to copy my primary windows partition using Partition Magic 8, I find that on boot up now, windows gives me the option of both "Microsoft Windows XP Professional" and now "Microsoft Windows XP Professional #1". Choosing the first boots up into my regular windows installation. but picking the second option (#1), errors out. I find it odd I'm showing 2 OS's when I only have 1 primary partition and 1 logical partition, and the logical partition is empty. Any way to fix this so I don't have to wait out the extra 30 seconds or make the extra keystroke to boot up or am I SOL?

I never trusted Partition Magic for that function. It would always screw things up.

I would have tried drive image instead. But thats just me.

Now back to your issue:

click START-->right click MY COMPUTER-->click PROPERTIES-->click ADVANCED-->click SETTINGS under START UP AND RECOVERY

under DEFAULT OPERATING SYSTEM choose the correct one from the drop down list
then uncheck TIME TO DISPLAY OPERATING SYSTEMS.

All is done.
