XP Boot Menu config?

Is there any way to re-configure the boot menu that windows XP manhandles over your computer? Even if I used system commander as an overhead or something, if I booted to 'WinXP', it would still go through this silly boot menu.

I've been able to ADD elements to it, but not take any away using the Windows Recovery console. the BOOTCFG command has all kinds of parameters to add different booters, but none to remove from the list.

I have only one booter installed on my computer, and that's winXP. The list at bootup still lists three options. Also, the countdown time is 0 seconds, so I can't even choose which one to boot from! How can I change that amount of time?
