Well here is the error pretty much verbatim:

Stop: C0000218 {Registry File Failure}
Registry cannot load the hive (file):
\Systemroot\System32\Config\Software
or its log or alternative.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writable.

Beginning dump of physical memory blah blah.

Here is the system specs:
AMD T-Bird 1ghz (C model/266fsb)
256megs Mushkin basic (nec chips)
K7S5A (bios date is january 2002)
15gig wd hard drive
geforce 2 mx
Enermax 300watt

This sytem was working fine with XP for a while then booted one day with that message. I knew about the power supply issues and it originally had a 250watt psu (generic), so I swapped it out with a brand new Enermax 300watt from newegg. Reinstalled the OS everything seemed fine and dandy, but now i have that message again... I reinstalled the os originally with the 250watt still in there, ran a bunch of benchmarks from cpu/memory/hard drive/graphics/etc... with no issues. I had a weird crash and gave it one of my good power supplies while the enermax was on order, seemed fine, but now its on the enermax and its back again. I seriously doubt the enermax is causing the issue as it's a great power supply. The system did run fine with the 250watt psu for months. The error code above when looked up is actually on old NT error code that basically means there is a hardware failure, but doesnt explain what has failed. The error doesnt happen constantly, I am just wondering what could be causing it before because its hard to repeat when i want to, it just happens when it feels like it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try checking your RAM. (Make sure they're seated properly or replace them) They could be your culrpit sometimes...
