I have XP Home and FF 0.9 on my laptop. Whenever I try to update FF to a newer version (from a download on the HD) the install fails;
Error during installation - Cross-Platform COM; -215 READ_ONLY
I use W2K on my primary system and it alwaya upgrades flawlesly, so I'm assuming its an XP thing. I have checked firewalls, DEP, etc and searched the net for references. It seems to be a security issue, but no idea how to fix it.
Obviously it installed just fine the first time, but now doesn't want to let me change it. Since FF uses some core processes that IE uses, I'm suspecting that XP doesn't want to let
a process get over-written - hence the Read_only part...
Thoughts?
