XP and ATi question

trying to put in new drivers in xp pro, already have installed a older ver. from Ati, now when i use control panel and remove installed Ati driver, it tells me to install a standard vga driver before i can install new Ati drivers, but when i search, all i can find is Ati drivers and no standard Vga drivers, am i missing something?
 
Hi and yes, thats all i ever done, however when i did that, the new driver install complained and said install a vga driver and retry, well.... problem seems to have been with the driver install, the ati setup that is. downloaded a different set and all went ok. anyways, thanks
