First of all, just want to say this is a legit, retail version of XP pro that I bought, it's not off the internet or any of that crap.

1 of my desktop's broke a couple weeks ago, I just now got around to switching out parts to figure out what exactly broke. Well, now that I have the parts replaced that needed to be, when I bootup XP Pro, I get a box that comes up at login that says this product must be activated, press ok to do it now. Once I press okay, a box comes up that says this product is allready activated. I press OK and it goes right back to the login screen that says you must activate this product now.

I tried calling MS and I of course have allready called a year or so ago with a problem so now they refuse to provide any help whatsoever unless I want to pay them 35 bucks!

Anyone have any idea's?

thanks!

There should be an option to call in (not tech support, activation help). Call there and go thru the automated system. Worst case you wind up talking to a human, tell them what happened (again, no charge to do this)

There is no option, I've seen that option before and it doesn't give it to me. I've also tried installing xp again, and still getting the same thing.
