XP-90 for E4300

I was thinking of using this cooler from my current rig when I build in April and wondered if anybody was using it on a C2D rig. Its kept my 3800+ in the low 40s while OCd to 2.4Ghz so I'm hoping it will be good on the E4300.

hi,
i'm running my 4300 on the gigabyte s3 at 3 ghz on the xp-90 and it cools just fine. but you do need the adapter kit as zagood said. i bought mine from svc.com if you're not in calif, even better since no tax.

Foofoo, what are your idle and load temps with the XP-90? I plan on getting the kit and a good Panaflo 92mm fan together when I order the E4300.

I think the temps should be fine for it, and if they're a bit to high, LAP IT!

My CPU temps dropped 10c Load after I sanded that guy to a mirror polish.

like above said, its worth a shot, a new mount for LGA775 is only like 8 bucks

The XP-90 was released in the era of hot Athlon64s and even hotter Pentium 4s, a E4300 will be a piece of cake.

hi -
i'm running at 9 x 333 with an idle of 25c and a load (prime95 x 2 processor affinity set) at 46c. all stock voltages. this chip is pretty sweet.
these temps are coming from gigabyte's ETC monitor, i dont know how reliable they are but since it is gigabyte's own software, it shouldn't be too bad...

good luck with yours
