Is it worth it to upgrade from a xp 3200 to a socket 939 3200 90nm? Or should i by a new video card?

A new video card would probably be more cost effective for you right now. Especially considering that a 939 upgrade would mean a new mb too.

Just look at the VGA charts from Tom's. Nearly any upgrade is going to give you a tremendous boost in performance. Any performance upgrade to the cpu/mobo is not going to yield much of a gain, as your 5200 is the bottleneck.

though the a64 3200+ is by far more powerful and faster, you are still better of just getting a newer video card.

I would say video card too, but with the transition to PCIe just around the corner, you may want to think about how long term your purchase is.

If you're the type to purchase and keep for a while, you may want to consider saving up and doing all at once in a move to PCIe. If you're the type to upgrade often, you'll probably be fine withan AGP card now and put off the PCIe for a little while longer.

There's not THAT much of a difference with both running 32-bit code.

If by "just around the corner" you mean over the next year or so then you're right. A strong CPU and a flagship AGP video card will allow you to play anything that comes out in 2005. Waiting a while will also allow PCI-Express standard to shake itself out and produce more daughter boards that actually take advantage of it.
