Remember, you would also need another motherboard as well. I personally don't think its worth it, unless you need every bit of performance you can afford. It should be faster, but you may not see it unless you are benchmarking/encoding/etc.

yeah i think so.
i went from a 2500+ to an A64 3200+ and I noticed in virtually everything I do that the a64 is superior.

Since your 2.6 is at 2133 I don't think it would be dramatically slower than a stock 3000+ but when you overclock the 3000+ to 2500 than I think you will quite happy with the results

My old AXP 3200 get beaten (at stock) by a A64 2800...going from a 2600 to A64 3000 will be sweet

@ michaelpatrick33 , remember, clock speed isn't everything!!!!!!!

especially comapring 2 completly different CPUs (ie, different core, different platform, different EVERYTHING!)

I am quite familiar with all those things. the 939 3000+ is clocked at 1800. That is 333 slower than his so the 3000+ with the on-die controller and architectual improvements would probably be from 20-30% faster dependent on his application. Overclocked to 2500 or higher it would incredibly better.
