Hey...
I just got a simple question....
I have the parts listed in my sig...
The cooler is Volcano 9....

I want to OC the 2500+ where it would be comparable somewhere in range of 2800+...
I did that by raising the fsb to 178mhz...
However I need to match the mhz of RAM when I do that at 100%, if I go 120% it won't post....
How could I oc the CPU with having my RAM running at 200mhz???

I don't want to do any soddering or such...

what?

at 178mhz cpu freq, fsb = 356mhz
at 100% ram, ram also = 178mhz (356ddr)
your pc3200 is good(or should be good) until 200mhz(400ddr)

what you probably need to do is raise vdimm
its better to have ram in sync with cpu fsb, so 100%

is that waht you wer asking?

(also, dont go below 100% for ram....theres no point in running ram slower than cpu, it just bottlenecks it)

it should work fine. just up teh ram voltage a lil bit. that should solve your problims.

also if your Mobo has a voltage divider make sure its being used

that's what I am asking.....you got it....
I want to run ram at 200mhz.....but I don't want to overdo the cpu fsb...

you think my cpu would be able to handle 200mhz fsb????
which voltage and what should I change it to????

right now it's at like this:
cpu core 1.57V
aux voltage 1.66V
+3.3V 2.59V
+5 4.89V
+12 12.34V
-12 -12.53V
-5 -5.40V

so from my understanding I should up the cpu core voltage (to what btw, and what's the maximum you would go???) and raise the cpu fsb to 200mhz and match ram with it???

TheEvil1:
what's voltage divider???

Just up the fsb to 200 and lower the multiplier. Ram will be at 400, cpu will be at 200 times the multiplier.

you probably wont get to 200 right off the bat
up the vcore to like 1.8v riht off th bat (if you have a good heatsink/fan combo?)
go up to like 166 at first (make sure you lock agp bus) and then go from there raising 5mhz or so each time
keep ram at 100%
loosen ram timings, give it 2.7v and go from there

I did the following...
Put multiplier at 10.5.
FSB 200mhz....
Ram same thing
Gave ram 2.77V
Gave CPU 1.70V

Running stable at 2.10Ghz @ 41.5-42C.
Sandra reports same CPU core voltage though of 1.57V....I think that's a little bit weird but hey.:) As long as it works.
You think I should leave it at that???

hmmm...I had issues with Win2K booting up twice....did hard reset twice and it booted up...

gave me blue screen and some "Bad Configuration" message....

btw....it says current AGP transfer rate 2x and Ti4800SE is 8x....how the hell do I change that????

or it gets adjusted automatically by the system when needed???

give it more vcore
1.65ish then 1.7v if problem persists

probably in the bios somehwre
snoop around
look for anything to do with agp (not agp voltage though)

What are you talking about? Both RAM speeds are the same!
