Just wondering if an XP 2000 will have any stability problems with a 350w psu. I'll be running it with a epox 8KH+ and a radeon 8500 video card. Should I upgrade the psu too or can it wait for a while?

I was looking at Compaq's business-desktop AthlonXP systems, and they're running 2000+'s and 2200+'s on 220W power supplies. :Q Of course, they're using nForce, which has onboard LAN, video and sound. For me, I would prefer at least 220W of combined power on the 3.3V + 5V channels alone, which calls for checking the brand/model of PSU to ensure that it's got that much. Antec's new 300W SmartPower, for instance, has 220W, while their old 350W has 180W, which is somehow the same as their PP303XP 300W unit. Confused yet? Not all megahertz are created equal, and the same goes for power supply wattage... check the specs to make sure you're getting what you think you're getting. :D

I should think you'll be alright. I plan to build an 1800+ system on a 300 watter, and I don't think that will have any problems.

I didn't think I'd have any problems. My 1800 works fine with this 350 but a friend of mine gave me second thoughts.
Thx for the responses. I'm gonna try it when the parts come in but if it's not stable that'll be my first place to check.

On general note...u should be fine. Specifically, the combine power of ur 3.3v & 5v rail should hv an output of around 155-165w.
