Performance wise, there is no difference between the two. They possess the exact same core. The MP chips are unlocked and have been verified for multi-processing.

MP is exactly that multi processing..............didnt know they were factory unlocked........food for thought
yepper exact same core but the mp does have 1 extra instruction that tells the mp chipset to varify mp capability.
i think that instruction is enabled by either a pin or one of the resistor packs in the chip.
and other than a slightly slower boot process both preforme exactly the same, with given that they both have the same clock rating.
the xp in dual setup has the same #'s that the mp does.
and the mp has the same #'s that the xp does in single setup.
so is it worth the price diff for and unlocked cpu that has one more instruction.
