It's working now. With no problems. Here's the report:

I tried turning off the audio completely. The game ran longer, and then froze after a little while. It took longer than usual, and it froze instead of resetting, which is better. My thought at this point is that the audio was part of the problem, and the video is also part of the problem, which is why it still froze.

So I take my GeForce2 Ultra out of my other computer and use it in this one instead of the integrated audio. I run Warcraft, but it still resets. This is with the audio on. Hmmm, so the audio is definitely a problem.

I come back here and see DAPUNISHER's post about the new drivers. I download and install. Everything seems to be okay now. I still have the GeForce2 Ultra in here, and I ran through a couple of games with sound effects only and no music, and there were no problems. So to find out if the new drivers fixed everything, I'll try it with the music also on, and if that runs fine, then I'll try it with the integrated video, which is how I want the system to eventually run anyways.

Thanks for all the help. I'll post final results.

First, I admire your persistence, most would have given up by now and just avoided doing the tasks that cause problems on their 2nd box :) Next a question, it couldn't update the on-board G2 MX with it disabled and a AGP card in it correct? . BTW, mine with 1 256mb stick of Crucial 2100DDR and XP1600+ the IG G2MX scored 2100ish in 3dMark 2k1 S.E. and obstensively 2 sticks will improve the graphics performance because of the DC-DDR 128bit controller kicking in so I'm interested in if you've benched it already and if so what it scored and regardless of the answer to that, what it scores with the new drivers and 2 sticks. BTW their is an Awesome mod posted in the motherboard forum that gives you FSB and mem ratio adjustments if you get really bored :D

I don't think it updated the IG GF2mx drivers, but the drivers that I think that the video drivers stayed the same in the new pack anyways. Cuz it's the same driver for my GF2 Ultra as it is for the IG GF2mx.

I can run Warcraft with the full audio. The only thing left to test is if it can run Warcraft with the IG GF2mx. And I haven't tried that yet cuz it looks so nice with the Ultra. :D

When I get around to it, I'll benchmark the integrated video with the two sticks of RAM. I expect it to be quite a high score (relative to one stick) because of the dual ddr controller. When I initially ran Warcraft yesterday, before all the rebooting started, the integrated video with two sticks of RAM looked REALLY good.

Well, the temps aren't as good as they can be. During the tinkering-to-make-the-system-work process, I reseated the HSF and did a worse job. So the temps are higher than when I first put the GC68 on.

Now I get 42-43C idle, 48C under load.

Before I messed with it, it was at 38C idle and 45C under load.

Hope this helps.

I'm still not sure if I'm gonna bother trying to reseat it properly again, since this system will never get overclocked and the temps, even tho higher, are still perfectly fine.

Like you said, those temps are fine, a little higher than you had before but nothing to be worried about (I think AMD lists 90C as the max operating temp). Glad to hear that you were also able to solve your software problems. Enjoy.
