XP 1500+ at 42C - with a generic heatsink?

This is the same $10 heatsink that kept my previous processors cool. Now my XP 1500 rarely goes above 42C. This is with ASII yet. What was that controversey about lapping heatsinks awhile back, that it didn't help? This heatsink has a slightly reflective bottom now from lapping it with sandpaper up to 1500 grit. I wonder if my new Alpha 8045 can match this. 😀

what motherboard?

What system temp?

Posts like this are why people get all huffy and puffy about 48C wtih a high end heatsink on a different motherboard and system temp.

Hehe, sorry, didn't want to cause a fuss. 🙂

Shuttle AK35GTR is the motherboard; system is 29C.

To anyone else: If you have higher temps than this, you're proc isn't going to die.🙂 I was just surprised to see these temps from a cheap heatsink.
