Hopefully this will give people an idea of how much change they can expect from their xp-120 and what type of temp others are getting.

Uh, is that supposed to be temp while idle or under load, and for an Intel processor (which run hotter) or an AMD processor?

Your current poll is meaningless without some kind of clarification.

OK I'll start Intel 650 3.4G @ 4.25G, Asus P5AD2-E with XP-120 and Panaflo Ultra speed fan. Ambient 21C, Idle 44C, Loaded 57C.

How's that compare?

I'm replacing this with a Corsair Cool water cooling kit tomorrow so hope these will drop and let's me overclock to 4.4G at least with lower temps =)

See? Prime example of what I'm talking about. :) BTW I run an XP-90, not an XP-120...but my temps are significantly lower than that on an AMD 64 system.

My damned 3.4 prescott was running as high as 72c with an XP-120. It even gets up 57c with water cooling, I'd be scared to see what the thing ran at with the stock cooler..my other 2 prescotts on the other had, ran nice and cool with the XP-120(if you can call 55c cool, but not bad for a prescott).

this poll makes no sense whatsoever...one person might have a room temperature of 20C, another might be in a 30C room.

A more accurate poll would be delta temps...how much of a drop you saw compared to retail. Thus, it won't matter as much as what the ambient temp or cpu is.

btw, p4 3.0c northwood @ 3.61 ghz overclock

retail:
idle: 34C
load: 56C

xp-120:
idle: 32C
load: 40C
