I've got a Winchester 3000+ 1.6v @ 2.5Ghz under my XP-120 and a Vantec stealth for a fan.

What kind of temps are other people getting with an XP-120?

Silent fan recomendations?

What is your ambient temps? The reason I am asking is that that can play a big role in your temps. Also you might wanna scale back the O/C a bit. But mid 50s are fine. Once you get high 50s then scale back.

The Vantec Stealth doesn't push a whole lot of air. Maybe look into a Panaflo L1A. I know folks will also recommend Yate Loons and Nexus.

I'd recommend a Sanyo Denki fan in the 120mmx38mm variety. They're rated for 105cfm@37db. At full blast they are a little loud , although nothing like a Delta, but if you hook it up to the mobo header than it shouldn't be too bad. I'm using the same fan on my XP-120 and I get idle temps of 29C, load 38C at 1.4V. At 1.55V I get load temps in the low 40s. Ambient temps are generally 31C.

whats the fan model number? im very interested but i kinda dont think the dba is accurate since my panaflo m1a is 86cfm/35.5dba

i have a sunon thats like 108cfm but at 42dba

unless these sanyos > panaflo

Is your Panaflo the 38mm thick jobber? I know the 25mm thick fans need a lot of rpm to get over a 100cfm but the thicker ones aren't too loud at that point. Here is a link to the fan. I guess it's 39db not 37.

2.9m3/min = ~103cfm

i got a panaflo high speed on mine, but i use q-fan to lower the speed, it runs at about 900rpm idle and 1200 rpm load, not loud at all really.
idle temps w/ qfan = 32C
load temps w/ qfan= 41C

on full blast 2500rpm
idle temps = 31C
load temps= 39C

Since the Panaflo is a two-wire fan without a rotation sensor, where are you reading your RPM figures? Better yet, how is it possible for you to read them anywhere? Has the A8N-SLI given you any trouble at POST using a CPU fan without a rotation sensor? Did you have to make any BIOS changes because of using the Panaflo that lacks a rotation sensor?
