Any good? Frys has it for $30 this week and I just picked up a set of steelseries Sibera headphones from the woot! deal and thought these might compliment them nicely.

Not looking for the end all be all of sound, just something that makes gaming more immersive

The DS has really good quality for such a cheap card. As a card for music it's a complete steal, but the drivers don't support Dolby Headphone so it's not the best choice if you want multi-channel audio in games.

I bought the D1 for $84.99 shipped from ZipZoomfly but has 2 volt RMS compared to 1 volt on the DS plus much lower noise. I use the sound card for speaker testing and listening and was afraid the low voltage rating on the DS would not work very well.

depends on the implementation, games like source engine ones use their own sound engine, and thus headphone mode. ffdshow includes hrtf as well.
