I have 2 gb of this stuff (Corsair XMS2 Dominator) that's rated for DDR2 1066, but my mobo clocks it at 800 when everything is set to auto. My understanding is because 1066 isn't really accepted as a standard, the mobo goes with 800 which is the next lowest standard. I was looking around online and it seems that you have to overclock(which isn't really overclocking, since the stuff is rated for 1066) to get it up to it's rated speeds, but that I might have to up the voltage a bit to make it stable at those speeds. The corsair website says that the RAM is rated up to 2.1v, which seems really high. My question is, since they're rated up to a voltage higher than default, raising the voltage won't do anything stupid like void the warranty, will it?

I'd also appreciate if someone would look this over too and make sure I'm not missing something obvious. The parts involved are:

Antec TruePower 550W power supply
2gb Corsair XMS2 Dominator DDR2 1066 PC2 8500 (2x1gb) (http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?Item=N82E16820145173)
DFI LanPartyUT NF590 SLI-M2R/G

if it matters, I have an 8800 GTS, a DVD drive, and 4 hard drives plugged in to the power supply already.

Thanks,

Raising the voltage to Corsair's "default" of 2.1v doesn't void the warranty.
The difference between having the memory running at 800 or 1066 only matters for benchmarks.
In the real world you won't see any difference.

Personally I like memory rated to run at the DDR2 standard of 1.8v
I like to run memory with as low voltage as possible. Only run as much as it takes for stability. Excess voltage does nothing but create heat and early retirement for the modules.

Just leave it. There's nothing wrong with the way it's running now. You'll not notice a real difference if you do change it.
