Technology can be expensive and the worst thing you can do is spend money when you don't know what you want. I would recommend that you take what money they give you and save it. Odds are that the economy is headed towards a downturn and thigns will eventually get cheaper. In addition, you will be only be helping yourself by saving your money. Purchasing gardgets can cause "financial issues" and always having $$$ stored away guarentees that gadget-time will:

a) not hurt the wallet that badly
b) probably result in better gifts
