Disclaimer: I have nothing to do with XM Radio other than I used this deal to buy a SkyFi2 for my personal use.

Offers available from 11/17/04 until 12/31/04 or while supplies last. All offers require a 6 month basic service ($9.99/mo) commitment or a $60 hardware charge applies. You pay for 3 months ($29.97) of service when you order.

XM SkyFi2 with SkyFi Audio system (boombox) $69 (Nov. 17-30 Only), $89 (Dec. 1-31)

XM SkyFi2 with Vehicle or Home Kit $49

XM Commander $49

Go to http://xmradio.com/friends and enter sponsor's email address.

So no one mistakes this as a referral offer, go to google.com and search for a "[somebody's name ]@xmradio.com" email address and enter it on the webpage above. You will be able to find some that work without much effort. Do not PM me for email addresses!

5 minutes of google search to find, minimal effort for a good price

Anyone know if the boombox bundle is any good, or am I better off getting the home kit?

Yes, the SkyFi2 with the vehicle kit for $49 has everything you need. It is a "plug-n-play" system.

Looks like you can only get one system....would be nice to get the car kit, and then just the boom box....

I did the friends and family deal a couple of years ago. It's real. And it's really good. (best that i've seen)

Last time I tried this I got warning messages from XM that they would verify my relationship to my "XM friend" and if found that there wasn't one, they would charge me full price on my order (I immeditately cancelled it).

Let's find so real friends then. How does it work? We need an invitation from a current subscriber. There must be many in these forums.

XM radio in my Avis rental car saved my sanity on Columbus Day Weekend '03 when I drove from Boston to Miami and back... but they really gotta consider a lifetime subscription option like Sirius now has (sure $500 is a lot but at least it's finite). Basically I don't spend enough time listening to the radio to want to subscribe to it on a monthly basis...

But overall, bump for a good service that might take my hard-earned dollars yet.

okay I'm looking into this...

I'm a current subscriber (since the beginning), and was hoping I could pick up some of these packages as gifts. I thought I could enter my own email address, but it looks like this deal is only good if you have an actual employee's email address (i.e. Joebob@xmradio.com) .

Hmm...this makes me think you can't use random people's xm emails. They will probably verify with the actual employee if we are 1, a friend or 2, family.

:( I'd really like for this deal to work

I don't think you some of you are really reading how this deal works. You must go to google and search for @xmradio.com addresses. It isn't that hard to figure out. I just did it and the first email address i found worked great. I have been wanting to get xmradio for some time now..i couldn't pass up this deal. Here is what youll end up sending

49.00 -- equipment
29.97 -- 3 month subscripion to xm radio (they make you sign up for 3 months of service with this deal)
8.50 -- Shipping
3.80 -- Tax

Total: 91.27

This is a hell of a deal and if you are not happy with xm you can sell the equipment on ebay for more than 91.27 so there really is no risk.

Anyways a BIG thanks to ehaught for posting this deal.

That method worked for me in 2002 for my first (of three) units. I got an address off the XM board and got my Delphi unit and home kit for $50 with the FF discount and combined rebate. But they got smart after that. Earlier this year (March I think), a similar one came up and I tried again. This time they jumped down my throat with warnings. Even when I used different email address (yes there are plenty).

Maybe they'll be friendlier now as they try to rope in more subscribers before Sirius gets them. Good luck to those that try.

They let you get multiple. Hell, the boombox is worth $99.

Everybody I know that has done this has received their system without any questions from XM Radio. In fact, I have no idea who the XM employee is that belongs to the email address I used. :p Like I said in my original post, this was the only way I could think of to share this deal (which, IMHO, is an outstanding deal) without it seeming like a referal. And yes, you need to use an employee @xmradio.com email address.

Well now I have heard two stories from XM

1. From sales that the promo is for employee FF only and said each employee submits for a specific number of sponsorship requests and as their email is used as a sponsor, it deducts from the total associated with their ID. However, he said as far as he knew there was no limit to the amount of sponsorships they could put in for and that they didn't have to identfy who they were sponsoring when they made their request submission.

2. The I heard from Anessa in the customer retention dept (she verified with her supervisor, Sharon) that this will promo will open to ALL current subscribers to sponsor new accounts. However, when I tried my email address it kicked it out. Called back they said they said it should work with any registered email address and was probably a website problem.

No 1. makes more sense.

I did it. Got me two with car kits. Time to sell my old skyfis and car kits with their old, big antenna.

Ok starting to get a little freaked out. You are redirected to xmradio.metrononline.com. Which is definitly not a xmradio.com url. Also every link on the web page fails. Try to click on the "track" link or the "customer service" link or the "XM Store" Link or the "Help" link. They all fail. I would except a comforation email for any order like that and i have recieved nothing.

WOW! Only 10 bucks a month for the gov't to be able to track you wherever you go. What a deal!! I only hope they offer a channel of Islamic chants so maybe the jihadists will subscribe and make our job alot
easier. :D

The skyfi2 is by far better. The roady is an entry level xm radio. The skyfi2 has all that the roady2, and then some. Looks like I am going to be one of those XM and Sirius guys for a while.
