XM Radio Users: Worth It?

I am finding myself in my car a lot more now and I have taken a liking to ESPN Radio. The only problem is that my local staiton that broadcasts it, only broadcasts it when they dont have regular programming to take up the airtime. This results in ESPN radio stopping midprogram and switching to whatever KNBR has on the schedule. Because of this, in addition to the spotty reception I get in some areas, I was thinking about upgrading my car to XM. I currently have the Pioneer DEH-8400 deck and so all I need to ass would be the receiver and the antenna which costs about $200.

My main question is for those people who are current users of XM...how do you like it? I have heard from a couple people that it is the type of service that once you have it, you wonder how you ever lived without it (ie: TiVo). How are the comedy station? Do they have morning talk shows as well? I love listening to the morning DJ's and their sometimes hilarious programming...

Thanks for the help!

XM Comedy 150

I've had my truck for 6 months and that's the only channel I've listened to. It's so kick ass. Completely uncensored stuff from...well...you name it
Chris Rock, Crank Yankers, Bill Engvall, Monty Python, etc. etc.

And it's definately one of those "why the hell didn't I do this years ago?"

Oh and guess what happens the 1st of Feb? Every music channel is commercial free, so people can't use that as an excuse any more. And at the start of March they'll have weather/traffic reports for the major metropolitan areas. 5 new stations are coming the 1st as well.

So it's always being added to and stuff.

I'd get one like the SkyFi (what I use) that you can take out of the car and put in a boat/house/other car or whatever. Better than buying 2 units (fee is $6 for a 2nd radio a month).

I don't have one personally...but I rode around with my cousin (who has it) for a couple weeks, and thought it was awesome. I don't know if I could justify the $ though.

Being that I already have an XM ready deck in my car, would you recommend going the receiver/antenna route? Or getting something like SkyFi that I can take other places? What is involved in hooking up SkiFi to say my home stereo or even my computer? Equipment cost difference?

$10 a month I can handle. If I wasnt paying for the service I'm sure it would go to something unnecessary anyways. As for the equipment $$$, that what birthdays and girlfriends are for!

It's well worth it. I'm especially thrilled to hear we'll be getting commercial free music stations next month.
You can get reception pretty much anywhere so long as you have a clear view of the southern sky. Keep in mind there will be spots that you will lose signal for a second or so. However if you are by a steep cliff or near a mountain blocking your view of the southern sky you can lose your signal until you clear the obstruction.
