Xion Stacker vs Antec 900

Hi everyone,

I just noticed this case:

Does anyone have it ?

Not sure on the dimensions, newegg doesn't list which is the Height or Depth..

Anyway I'm either getting this one or the Antec 900

It will be for a email server w/ 2 - 15K scsi drives.

The main thing that I don't like about the 900 is the psu is at the bottom... from all the pics I've seen it looks to be a cramp case..

But the 900 does look like it's a nice ventilated case.
(this is important because it will run 24/7 )

Anyway anyone have this Xion case ?


PS. I wonder if you can remove those side flap (useless) covers ??

19.5" is the depth. You might want to try and find a Codegen 9000 series case. I think it would be better for your puposes than the Xion whle costing less too. But if you really want a nice server case for reasonable money, look at the Chenbro SR-10568/69.

You can save a buck or two at eWiz by linking to your item from Pricewatch or Froogle.

For a 24/7 server I'd want something with filters to keep out the dust. I think the P180 would be a better choice if you aren't looking at server chassis. The 900 and the Xion Stacker are "gamer" cases with venting that doesn't care about dust or noise.

For a 24/7 server I wouldn't worry as much about the difficulty of initial cable routing. Once you get it set it's likely to say that way.

For a server I don't want ventilation, I want good maintainable air flow.

The filters on the P180 are easily removed and cleaned. After seeing the inside of P180's after a few months and being shocked at the lack of dust you'd understand.

If you go with a server chassis you'll see more features like this.

Right now I'm leaning toward the Chembro SR105 ..

But I really don't think filters do any good in this case, because they have soo much dust...

If it's allowed to blow thru, then its fine. But w/in a short time it would clog all the filters.

Can you break off the door on the P180 ? it would get in the way.. Plus it's too tall.. Trying to stay around 18 inches..

And the P180 is too short ... only 19 inches... try fitting all the stuff I have in this Stacker into a P180 ....

I'd rather use the CM Stacker in stead of the p180.. much better layout and room..

It has to have ventilation to have air flow ...

I don't know I just my go w/ a Lian-Li PC7A+ case ..

Only have a 2 - 15k scsi hd's, tape drive, dvd..

Just wait a while and the door on the P180 will be off...

The Chenbro is short but deep - the smallest I know of that can hold an EATX mobo (if needed) - the 10568 version has an aluminum skin and a door. You can find them in the same price range as the 10569 that eWiz carries. Quite a bit sturdier than most Antec doors. It would ease your cable crunch a bit, Jose. Chenbro has catered to the PC server market about as long as there has been a PC server market - they know how to do a PC server box!

I don't just want a bunch of holes everywhere. I want planned intake and output paths for the air.
