Anybody have a experience with Ximeta Netdisk external HD that combines both USB2.0
connectivity and an ethernet port to share on your local net. An Office Max near me has them on the clearance table for $99. It is an 80GB, 7200rpm drive. Would be nice to share files within my home network if it actually works. Don't seem to see anybody else selling them now. Anybody got any info?? Thanks.
 
Look at some reviews.... My memory may prove wrong, but I thought one of the quirks of that drive was that you needed 1) a service/driver installed to even use it ... and 2) multiple machines/clients couldn't access it at the same time.
 
Nah, your memory was right. I found a user review and it was split about 50/50 with 43 posts. It either somewhat worked or there were a lot of problems. Software update is supposed to solve multiple user problem, but according to posts, it didn't work very well.
Think I will steer clear.
