XFX RADEONS already listed at NCIX.com

I can see Newegg severely inflating these prices because they are gonna sell quick; alot more than other manufactures just for the warranty. So either other AIB's are gonna have to step up their own warranties or sell at a really low price.

It's a black PCB. Just get a black after-market cooler and use two DVI cables to hide the ports. 😛

Awesome that they carried over the warranty.

Why would you buy any other brand of ATi card at this point? (As long as the XFX prices remain competitive)

People will pay the premium for the warranty. After that, other vendors will have to change their warranty or drop prices further to stay competitive. Either way, we win.

I don't shop much at NCIXUS, so I don't know how their prices typically compare with NewEgg...

They're hit or miss, you'll find some insanely lower prices for some stuff (I got my Blu-Ray drive there for $80 cheaper than anywhere in the US and an 8800GT for $230 on launch day) but their prices are also consistently higher for most things. Their shipping to the US is also usually higher than most e-tailers, $15 minimum for Saver/Express 3-day, but faster than ground. They're definitely geared more towards Canadian shoppers though as many of their promos and rebates are for canucks only and do not reflect on the US site.

i've just had a pretty bad shopping with ncix. i'd rate them a 2/10 in customer service. summary: product ordered on dec 25th. today is 1/8/08 and i still have not received my product. i've called about 50 times, was hung up on/sent to voicemail about 45 times. (they only allow a person to stay on hold for about 5 minutes before hanging up or sending you to voicemail.)

what is wrong with red? You're aware that RED is the official color of ATI right?
and are you seriously not going to buy a card based on some color on it even if it was the better card?

dont think so, it really sounds like he wouldn't buy a better card if it had red on it instead of black.

I don't worry too much about warranty personally. But I upgrade every year or a little more then year. I suppose the lifetime carry over to the next owner might help resale a bit, but I don't know how much it really will help.

anybody notice XFX is using classic built by ATi box art? the 4850 and 4870 have the same box art as the 9600 AIW and 9600XT

No kidding. A 2 year old card isn't worth enough for me to bother packing it, besides going to the trouble of putting it in the mail. Just to find out it was my fault it broke.
