XFX Radeon HD 5770 stuck at 1600x1200@60hz

I have a 26" monitor LG W2600H that has native resolution of 1920x1200@60hz but I can't get the video card to do it. The monitor is going through a KVM switch using a DVI connection and I had no problem running 1920x1200 using my old Nvidia 7900GTX. So far I've unchecked "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" and I've disabled extended display identification data through the ATI's control center. Can anyone help?

Yep, I tried that too. I could force it to the native resolution with the nvidia cards but not this one!

Have you tried downloading the drivers for your monitor(not the video card)? Sometimes that helps .

Try disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor while the computer is on sometimes it will redetect the display properly. Also you could try deleting the cached EDID Windows keeps in the registry and/or use Powerstrip to take a look at what it's got currently for the monitor and generate your own settings for it if you can't find a .inf for you monitor on the net.

Make sure you installed your monitors inf driver.

I did use the monitor's drivers. I did the update driver deal on the monitor.

It's funny you wrote this because this is exactly what I did. I plugged in the cable directly into the monitor and 1920x1200@60hz! I swapped the cable backto the KVM and 1920x1200@60hz. I turned off the computer and started it again and back to 1600x1200 again! I tried powerstrip earlier and it made no difference after making a custom driver. Most likely I did something wrong.

The KVM is a DVI-I I belive. It has the long slot with 2 pin holes on the top and bottom. I am using the VGA cable going from the monitor to the KVM because for some reason when I use a DVI-D cable going from the KVM to the monitor, it does not display anything. The only working source is the VGA. In addition, the monitor can only accept DVI-D cable.

Maybe this Avocent switchview 4 ports KVM is funky. There hasn't been a firmware update since 2007. I may just buy a new IOgear DVI KVM switch and that may solve the problem. It's really annoying though that this doesn't work but the much older NVIDIA cards have all worked fine.
