Just wanted to post this in light of my recent experience with XFXs customer support / warranty department.

About 2 weeks ago my 7800GT ran into some problems after a system upgrade. Without going into details of the problem I decided to contact XFXs warranty deparment to get the card RMAed.

All it took was a few simple steps to register my card with XFXs easy to follow online forms and within 24hrs I was in contact with a XFX rep sorting out my problem and arranging for an RMA number to send my card in.

The process was extremely painless, the reps were friendly and I actually received a new boxed retail card in place of my older one which was RMAed. I don't know if they weren't able to fix the problem or if this is standard practice, either way I have a nice new card sitting on my desk here at work waiting to get installed.

I was very happy with the quick turn around and experience with XFX and wanted to share it. The turn around time between contacting XFX and receiving my card was roughly 11 days, or about 8 working days.

i had roughly the same experience 8 months ago. A screw was loose in the box so the heatsink didn't have good contact and would make a loud rattle and get really hot. Registered it on their site the same way and received my new card.

I too had a very simialr experience with my XFX 6800GT about 1 year ago. I was very impressed with their turn around time. It's good to hear that they are still providing good service.

It was just great to see a nice new 7800GT in a box when I received my return package. I wasn't sure what to expect with the 7800GT pretty much out of production at the moment. I was hoping for a 7900XX series but luckily they just gave me a later revision of the same 7800GT model I had before. Couldn't be happier.

They kind of have to be good at customer support. So many of their cards need to be RMA'd its not funny. Their lack of quality control is really quite alarming (and the parent company Pine was no better back in the day). You'd almost think they were a PC Chips subsiduary given the absence of quality control, but, apparently they aren't.

I'm not sure why you feel this way, but this is the 5th XFX card I've either used or supplied for a family member. This is the first time I've had any trouble with one; not to mention I most likely caused the problem. Perhaps I don't read enough forums, but my personal experience says that XFX cards are actually of better quality than quite a few other nVidia card manufacturers.

I just recieved my 7900GT from and RMA I shipped in 4 weeks ago that was supposed to take 2 weeks. BTW, the POS still artifacts in BF2 even though their tech said it was tested extensively and it would definitely work. Thanks XFX.

They have good customer support. Earlier this year, the fan on my 5900XT was dying and they sent me a replacement for free after 2 years of ownership. Pretty cool

Damn so many RMAs you know I do too have a XFX vid card for after reading all your stories it kinda scaries me a lil bit... you know I'd rather have a highly reliable vid card that would last me 2-3 years than having a great customer service whom are known for their great service and RMA. My first vid card lasted me 3 or 3 1/2 years from MSI - Geforce 4 Ti4200.

Anyways, I hope my 6800XT could sustain the beat over the years.

If the problem is only in BF2 perhaps its not the card or the fact its made by XFX. You're calling it a POS but it appears that your problem is related to a single game. Maybe you have another thread discussing your problem, but I haven't searched for it.

I wouldn't be worried if I were you. As I'm sure we're all aware, majority of the time people only post bad experiences with companies and not the good ones on forums such as these. That's why I took the time to voice my opinion with the RMA process I had with XFX. Every manufacturer has problems with their hardware on one level or another. How they deal with it is another story.

I've had problems with many of the manufacturers I've purchased from; ie - Asus, XFX, IBM, Hitachi, Seagate, DFI, nVidia, etc. One of my biggest problems I had was the onboard NIC on the DFI nForce 3 250GB I had purchased. There was a problem with the NIC controller and World of Warcraft. You'd disconnect at random times for no reason. Now is that caused by the game or the hardware, or the drivers? Something so small can cause headaches for those not informed. After reading thread upon thread on support forums it was in my best interests to just buy a 10$ PCI NIC, however. I'm not even sure the problem was ever fixed.
