XFX OR LEADTEK?

ok well im thinking about buying a XFX or a Leadtek 7800 GTX from newegg, both same price at 500. the xfx is slightly clocked better ( i doubt itll make a lot of difference) but the leadtek is alos rated good AND comes with splinter cell 3. im leaning toward the leadtek, ive never had any products from them so im just wondering if im making the right choice.

Not speaking from experience, but I've seen many people dissapprove of XFX cards, leadtek seems to have a better reputation.

Leadtek, and no, I'm not speaking out against XFX based on hearsay, I personally had a not-so-good experience with XFX.

Never had a Leadtek but I have an XFX 6600GT and it causes all kinds of hellish problems...anything other than XFX is my vote.

After the stories I've heard about XFX's cards you're better off with Leadtek. Also I've owned Leadtek cards in the past and they worked fine.

Having said that I believe XFX beefed up their warranty scheme recently so that might be something to think about.

I've owned cards by both brands and had no problem with either.

Leadtek does have a reputation for using high quality components though.

I have 2 Leadteks 7800GTX in SLI configuration and works very well. Also, there's a BIOS update in there web site that overclock the core to 450 and the memory to 1250. Go with Leadtek.

I'm currently trying to talk them into sending me a board for free. I bought my gtx ko's about a week too early... 🙁 Maybe they'll go above and beyond and send me one 😉 ...kinda doubt it though...

I agree, check out that EVGA deal. Even if you dont want the SLI board, just sell it on our FS/FT forums to help you offest your cost. EVGA has a great reputation, and they now offer lifetime warranty on their cards.

i have an XFX 6600gt, and it was not very satisfactory. just low quality, and they have no support at all. also, the cooler sucks, and i can hardly get any overclock. i wish i would have gotten a leadtek.

XFX has a new double lifetme warranty on thier cards, so I would probably feel confident in buying one at this point.

IF YOU BUY AN EVGA 7800GTX FROM EVGA.COM THEY GIVE U A FREE EVGA SLI MAINBOARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.evga.com/articles/public.asp?AID=258

DON'T PASS THIS ONE UP!!!! 🙂

This is THE deal out there right now; if I were considering an upgrade to this generation technology I would be all over this.

It has no Firewire connectors, if that makes a difference to you. That's the only thing that turned me off from this deal.

well, thne with the money saved you could easiyl buy a firewire pci card.

Im just waiting till ATI will freaking release their damn R5xx line so NV will release the rest of the 7xxx line to drive 6800 prices down so i can get one for cheap. AOE3 looks sweet(though HDR couldbe toned down about 1/2 as it is implemented now)

k well i would get the evga also, but im not sure when im getting the money for it yet, prolly after the deal expires 🙁 but the main reason im aiming for leadtek is the splinter cell 3 🙂
