XFX HD 4850 1GB $40 AR w/ FS

this is probably as close as you can get to that $20AR 4850 newegg had during the holidays that sold out in like an hour

Anyone know if this card can display to 3 monitors? Not looking for an eyefinity setup. Just want a triple monitor setup. Thanks in advance.

Ah damn wish I had realized that back then. Have some circa 2000 games that are fubared when playing with an nvidia card due to changes in theiir drivers that ati still plays fine, but don't want to pay much for such a limited use item.

Can't you play those games with just about any recent graphics cards, even the low end ones? Not to mention, you can always use older nvidia drivers.

Possible and easy are far apart, and that can make the difference between playing and older game fun or pointless.

Prolly a really stupid question,

But is this going to be much better than a gt 7800? I bought one in hopes of swapping the 7800 for a 4850 card in my work PC...

(heh... I game more than I work...)

It's at least 2.5x faster. Good upgrade.

In response to the comments about drivers and older games, I found, for example, that nVidia drivers wouldn't let me play Command & Conquer Generals at any resolution other than 1024x768. That is a game from 2003. It works fine on my HD5850, a card from 2009.

Yeah, it's probably as fast as a 9800GT.

I just grabbed one as well. Aside from not having Dx 11 capability, how does this HD4850 stack up to say a HD5670/512MB DDR5 ?
