Apparently XFX provided an inline resistor adapter that would quiet the fan when this card was first released to complaints about the noise, but I don't think they offer that anymore. So I'm just building my own for 99 cents.

I'm gonna see if I can get one from XFX. Ideally, you'd need the voltage to be less than 5v (at 5v or 40%, the fan sounds like it's still over 1000 rpm, and is clearly audible outside the box).

Anyone had luck actually getting on of these in-line rheostats from XFX?
